LOURDES—PILGRIMS Welcome home to the cold! The Group have brought back a candle for Our Lady’s altar as a reminder of all those prayed for especially the sick at Lourdes. The candle will be lit on Our Lady’s feast days for the coming year.

Ss. PETER & PAUL’S CHOIR PRACTICE Choir practice resumes on Wednesday September 1st at 7pm in the Parochial House. New members are welcome.
ST PATRICKS BRASS & REED BAND New members of all aged 7 to adult with or without musical experience are welcome to join our band. Instruments and tuition provided for €1.50 per week. BLESSING OF THE GRAVES Our celebration of the Blessing of the Graves in Balscadden on Sunday last was Blessed with beautiful weather and a large attendance. As this was the last of our cemetery celebrations for this year, we take the opportunity to offer our sincere thanks to the organisers and participants of all three Parish celebrations. We pray the efforts of everyone brought comfort to all, especially those who are still struggling with the death of a loved one. The Cemetery Sunday collection in Balscadden realised €665, many thanks.
LOURDES PILGRIMAGE A group from Balbriggan are currently in Lourdes. We wish them well as they remember all of us, especially the sick, at Our Lady’s Shrine, let us also remember them in our prayers.
LEAVING CERTIFICATE EXAM RESULTS Having received their Leaving Cert. results, our young parishioners are now awaiting The CAO announcement on Monday next. We continue to offer them all our best wishes and our prayerful support.
BETHANY GROUP As announced earlier, we are fortunate to have a newly trained Bethany Group in our Parish. This group of volunteers are trained to listen to and support those who are bereaved. We will have a ceremony to install the Bethany Group Members in the Parish on Saturday August 28th at 6.30pm Mass.
NEW LEADER As Sister Cora Grimes steps aside as leader of the Loreto Community in Balbriggan we wish her well, and our sincere thanks goes to her for all the work she has done in our Parish community. We also warmly welcome Sister Maureen Thornton a new member and leader of the Loreto community in Balbriggan.

ROAD CLOSURES IN BALBRIGGAN From Monday August 9th to Sunday September 5th part of Dublin St. and Bridge St. will be closed to facilitate the resurfacing of the roads. It will also be necessary to close the main street from Market Green to Convent Lane. Also streets leading on to these areas may be closed for short periods during these works. Diversions will be in place and full road closure will be implemented only when absolutely necessary.

B.E.—BEGINNING EXPERIENCE B.E. is a support group for those coping with the pain of loss of their life partner, through Death, Separation or Divorce. Few people are able to cope alone with the pain of loss. Do you find you need more support than family and friends can provide? NATIONAL PUBLIC NOVENA IN HONOUR OF OUR LADY OF KNOCK AT KNOCK 14th-22nd AUG The theme of this Novena is “The Path of Repentance, Healing and Renewal”. It will be on twice daily, in the afternoons at 3pm and at 8.30pm in the evening with a variety of speakers each day.
