HOUR OF PRAYER WEDNESDAY 7TH APRIL There will be an Hour of Prayer with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in Ss. Peter & Paul’s Church on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 8pm. Our next Hour of Prayer will be on Wednesday April 7th from 8-9pm. It will be a time of quiet prayer with music & short reflections. Everyone is welcome
PLANNED GIVING The planned giving this week amounted to €2064. Our sincere thanks to all who contribute so generously and regularly.
EASTER WISHES At a difficult time for many, it was heart warming to find so many attending our two reconciliation services in the past week and the large numbers in attendance at our other celebrations. Wonderful also to see so many involved in the Holy Week Ceremonies which we hope were enriching to all. Our sincere thanks to you all for your continued presence, support and words of encouragement. May the Lord Bless us all with the Joy of the Risen Lord.
ST VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY The local conference’s Spring Appeal will take place at Ss. Peter & Paul’s Church and the Church of the Assumption Balscadden on April 10th & 11th.
THE PARISH FAITH GROUP The monthly Prayer Meeting will take place on Tuesday April 6th at 8pm in the Loreto Convent.

EASTER DUES The Planned Giving weekly boxes have a Yellow envelope marked Easter Dues for your convenience. For half yearly, yearly and those parishioners who contribute by direct debit should all have received their Easter Dues envelopes in the post by now. For anyone who has not received an envelope there are some available at the Church doors.
FUNERAL MINISTRY If you are interested in the formation of a Funeral Ministry for our Parish—assisting families at times of bereavement with the funeral liturgy etc., - please leave your contact details with the Parish Office.
RTE MASS Everyone must be seated 15 minutes before Mass starts Arrangements are underway for the RTE broadcast of Mass from our church on Sunday, April 11th at 11.15am. Due to the time of the broadcast it will be necessary to change the times of our Masses on that Sunday. Masses on that Sunday will be at 9.30am; 11.15am and 12.30pm. Music for the Mass will be provided by Loreto Secondary School, Balbriggan. The theme of the Mass will be to pray for all those students preparing for Exams in the Leaving and Junior Cert.

RELIGIOUS SHOP We would be interested in getting your views on the possibility of having a Shop for the purpose of the sale of religious goods, as has been suggested by some parishioners. Let us know if you would be interested in volunteering to help in the shop were it to open.
HOLY LAND PILGRIMAGE There has been a lot of interest in the proposed trip to the Holy Land for eight nights from October 5th 2010. The trip will consist of 3 night in Tiberias and 5 nights in Jerusalem. The candidates must be active Catholics with a Theology degree or equivalent who are willing to serve the mission of the Church. Details of the course are available from the Diocesan website. Prospective applicants may wish to discuss this position further with Fr. Eugene.

COMBINED CLUBS CENTRE Our congratulations to the CCC on finishing their mortgage after years of hard work. The occasion was marked with a celebration in the past week.

THE RTE MASS A sincere thanks to the very positive reaction to the broadcast. It was good to see so many proud of their Parish and of Balbriggan. Well done to all involved on and off screen.
HOLY LAND PILGRIMAGE The details of the trip to the Holy Land are as follows: Dates are: Thursday October 21st to Friday October 29th. The Cost is €1518 for under 65 and €1556 over 65, which includes flights, taxes and insurance, 8 nights 4 star accommodation (Twin Sharing), Dinner & B B. Services of a Spiritual Director and Guide are also included. There is a single room supplement of €395. For all those wishing to travel deposits of €250 should be made payable to Map Travel and left in the parish office by Tuesday 20th April.

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL Archbishop Martin met with representatives of the PPC’S from our Deanery during the week. He spoke of our need for Parishes to work together especially with the falling number of Priests. Balbriggan has been grouped with Rolestown, Naul and Garristown. At our recent meeting of our PPC the Archbishops vision for Parishes was discussed. We agreed that this process would take time but had to begin now and in consultation and with the cooperation of parishioners. More details of our steps to meet the challenge presented by the Archbishop will be announced over the coming months. Fr. Eugene
