As we have no Sunday Mass congregation we would greatly appreciate your support where possible for our weekly Planned Giving to help with the basic maintenance of the Church and Parish.  We know that many people have been affected financially by the Covid- 19 crisis so any support is greatly appreciated. You can do so by clicking on the `Donate` button on our website www.balbrigganparish.com   Thank you.  Fr. John

THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD

Ascension Day, also known as, the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord or The Feast of the

Ascension of Jesus Christ, commemorates the moment Jesus ascended into heaven.

As we celebrate the Ascension of the Lord, I invoke the peace and joy that come from the Risen Christ upon you and your families,” said Pope Francis. The Holy Father encouraged Christians to be generous witnesses of the Risen Christ, knowing that He is always with us to sustain us. He reminds us that Jesus left us the command to “Go and teach all nations…teaching them to observe all that [He] commanded” (Matt 26: 19 – 20).

Pope Francis prayed that the Risen Jesus, with the power of His Holy Spirit, may make us “bearers of joy, and strengthen in us the hope and the certainty that love is stronger than death and that it always triumphs.”
